Man falls to death while removing cut-outs; contractor absconding

Nanjangud: A man, who was removing a huge cut-out of Suttur Jathra Mahotsava, slipped and fell to his death on Jan. 21.

The deceased has been identified as Ravikumar (37), a resident of Kyathamaranahalli in Mysuru. On Jan. 21, Ravikumar was removing a huge cut-out of Suttur Jathra Mahotsava, when he slipped, fell down and sustained serious injuries. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Mysuru.

Meanwhile, the person, who had taken the contract to install and remove cut-outs and hoardings, has allegedly gone missing soon after the incident.

This resulted in Ravikumar not getting adequate treatment and succumbed to injuries, alleged deceased Ravikumar’s wife Vedavathi, who has lodged a complaint in this regard.

Vedavathi has further stated in the complaint that her husband was taken to remove cut-outs and hoardings in the night. When Ravikumar slipped and fell down, no one came for his help, she alleged.

Biligere Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
