Mandya/Mysuru: A 55-year-old man committed suicide by jumping into Cauvery River in KRS reservoir here on Saturday night.
The deceased is yet to be identified and the body has been shifted to MMC&RI mortuary in Mysuru. It is learnt that the deceased allegedly jumped into the river despite the presence of Police security. KRS Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
Youth commits suicide
In another incident, a 25-year-old youth committed suicide in city on Saturday.
The deceased youth has been identified as Karthik, a resident of Chamarajanagar, who was working at a bar in Dattagalli here and used to stay in the bar. As Karthik did not open the door on Saturday morning, the door was broke open only to find him hanging.
Saraswathipuram Police, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar besides registering a case. The reason for Karthik’s extreme step is yet to be ascertained.
