Malavalli: A 40 year-old auto driver was killed after being stabbed and acid poured on him at Malavalli yesterday early morning.

The deceased is Srinivas, and Police have suspected that an old enmity may have led to the murder.

Yesterday early morning, when Srinivas was proceeding near Sunnadakeri in the town on his two-wheeler, miscreants who waylaid his bike, threw chilli powder on him, stabbed him on his stomach with a knife and poured acid on him killing him brutally, it is learnt.

Police said that they have collected information and clues and expressed confidence that the accused would be nabbed soon.

Dy.SP H. Lakshminarayan Prasad, Circle Inspector A.K. Rajesh and staff visited the spot and a case has been registered at Pura Police Station in the town.
