Mysuru: In a fit of rage, a 50-year-old man murdered his 85-year-old mother in city this morning by repeatedly hitting her head with a cast-iron dosa tawa. After committing the crime, he coolly went to the Police Station and told the cops that he had killed his mother.
The incident occurred at Sunnadakeri 9th Cross and the victim has been identified as Govindamma. She had three sons and lived with her youngest son Sundaram. Her other sons are the residents of Bogadi and Nanjangud.
Sundaram’s wife had deserted him since many years and there were some family issues that led to frequent quarrels between him and his mother. Today morning too, Sundaram picked up a quarrel with his mother and unable to control his anger, he picked up a dosa tawa and hit Govindamma repeatedly.
As he hit her repeatedly, Govindamma bled to death. Seeing his mother in a pool of blood, Sundaram locked the house and headed straight to K.R. Police Station and told the cops that he had hit his mother with the tawa and she was dead.
The Police rushed to his house and shifted the body to the MMCR&I mortuary
