Man kills wife in drunken stupor

Mysore/Mysuru:  A man allegedly killed his wife by hitting her head with an iron rod in drunken stupor at Nagartahalli village in Jayapura hobli in the taluk yesterday.

Thirty-year-old Ramesh Nayaka is the man, who is accused of killing his wife Kumari (30).

Ramesh and Kumari were married for 10 years and have a son. A liquor addict, Ramesh, used to consume liquor daily and fight with his wife. Yesterday too, Ramesh came home drunk and picked up a fight with his wife and reportedly hit her head with an iron rod and fled from the house.

Neighbours, who saw blood flowing from the house informed Jayapura Police, who rushed to the spot along with the Dog Squad and Fingerprint unit personnel, conducted mahazar, registered a case and shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary in Mysuru for post-mortem.

Jayapura Police, who swung into action, have arrested accused Ramesh at Vivekananda Circle in Mysuru.
