Man kills wife in Mandya

Mandya:  A fight between a husband and his wife has ended with the husband killing his wife at Kirugaval village, Malavalli taluk in Mandya district last night.

While the deceased has been identified as Sowmya (30), her husband who has fled from the spot after committing the crime is Kumaraswamy, a resident of Kalkuni village in Mandya.

Sowmya was given in marriage to Kumaraswamy about 10 years ago and they have a son and a daughter.

A few days ago, there was a fight between Sowmya and Kumaraswamy, following which Sowmya had left her husband’s place and was staying with her parents in Kirugaval. Kumaraswamy, who had consoled his wife, began to visit her at her parents’ house quite often.

On Sunday night, Kumaraswamy, who had come to his in-laws’ house, had dinner with the family members and retired for the day along with his wife and children.

Meanwhile, a fight ensued between them and Kumaraswamy in a fit of rage allegedly slit the throat of Sowmya with a hacksaw blade and fled from the spot.
