Man murdered at farmhouse Police suspect family angle

Mysuru: A man was murdered in his farmhouse yesterday allegedly by people who were working at the same farmhouse. The Police are now suspecting a family dispute to be the motive.

Prashanth, 47, a native of Bengaluru was murdered at his farmhouse at M.C. Hundi on T. Narasipur Road near Meghalapura yesterday. He was attacked with lethal weapons on his head. Prashanth had sold his property at S. Doddapura near T. Narasipur four to five years back and had purchased the farmhouse.

While his family lived in Bengaluru, Prashanth stayed alone at his farmhouse. Six months back, one 28-year-old Lokesh joined Prashanth and was his bodyguard. Police said that two months back, one Pramod joined Prashanth and used to look after cattle at the farmhouse.

Police said that one more person, Kiran, was working as Prashanth’s assistant at the farmhouse. In his statement to the Police, Kiran alleged that Pramod and Lokesh had taken Prashanth out of the house last evening and had attacked him with lethal weapons. Soon after killing Prashanth, Lokesh and Pramod left the place.

Police sources told Star of Mysore that Prashanth had separated from his wife and was preparing for second marriage. This could have resulted in the murder, Police said. Mysuru South Police Inspector Karim Ravuther has formed a team to nab the absconding Lokesh and Pramod. Kiran is the eye-witness in the case. The body has been handed over to the relatives.
