Man murdered by his sister’s lover: Two more nabbed; total arrests go up to five

Mysore/Mysuru: Vijayanagar Police, who had arrested three persons from a sericulture shed at a village near Channarayapatna in Hassan district recently on charges of murdering a youth at Belawadi on June 15 evening, have arrested two more persons thus bringing the total number of arrests in the case to five.

While accused 23-year-old Sagar, 24-year-old Pratap and 32-year-old Manju, residents of Belawadi in the taluk, were arrested earlier, 45-year-old Mahadev and 42-year-old Susheela were arrested on June 17.

The accused had brutally murdered Hemanth alias Swamy of Belawadi at about 7.30 pm on June 15 for objecting to his sister’s love affair. The accused, had not only stabbed and hacked Swamy, but also bludgeoned him with a concrete block before absconding. DCP (Law and Order) M. Muthuraj and Vijayanagar Sub-Division ACP Gajendra Prasad guided Vijayanagar Inspector B.S. Ravishankar, Sub-Inspectors Vishwanath, Ashwini and Narayana and staff Shankar, Lokesh, Prabhakar, Somaradhya, Srinivasmurthy, Annappa Devadiga, Kamanna, K.N. Manjunath, Pradeep Kumar, Sanjay Pawar, Nandeesh, Tilak Kumar, ACP Squad’s Muralidhar, Umesh, Likith, Raghavendra and CRD Division’s Kumar in the nabbing operation.
