Man on video call with wife run over by train

Nanjangud: A man, who was talking to his wife on video call and crossing the railway track, was run over by a train at Doddakavalande village in the taluk yesterday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Manusami (30), a native of Bihar who was working as a carpenter at the village. Yesterday morning, Manusami, who had gone to attend nature’s call, was on his way back and was on a video call with his wife while crossing the railway track when he came under the train coming from Chamarajanagar to Mysuru and was killed.

Railway Assistant Sub-Inspector Srinivas Murthy, who reached the spot along with his staff, conducted mahazar and shifted the body to Chamarajanagar District Hospital mortuary.

The family of Manusami was informed about the tragedy and the Railway Police have registered a case.
