Mysuru: The 7th Additional District and Sessions Court, on June 28, has sentenced a man to life imprisonment for killing his wife.

The 37-year-old Murthy alias Krishnamurthy, son of Sheshadri and a resident of Kumbarakoppal, is the accused, who has been sentenced to life.

On Sept.25, 2014, Murthy, doubting his wife Suvarna’s character, picked up a quarrel with her, set her ablaze after pouring kerosene on her and had killed her. Metagalli Police, who had registered a case in this regard, conducted investigation and had submitted a charge-sheet against Murthy to the Court.

The Court, which took up the hearing on June 28, found Murthy guilty of the crime and sentenced him to life imprisonment. Public Prosecutor Mahanthappa argued for the Government.
