Man stabbed over financial dispute

Mysuru: Upset over demand for return of money that he had taken for purchase of an auto, an autorickshaw driver reportedly stabbed a youth in HUDCO Layout third stage in Bannimantap  late on Monday night.

The victim has been identified as Jagadish while the attackers have been identified as Mudassir and his friends.

Mudassir, who was unemployed, requested his neighbour Raju, a carpenter to extend financial help for purchase of an auto. Then Raju, through help from a trader in Devaraja  Market, succeeded in getting Mudassir an autorickshaw for operating it on hire on an agreement that Mudassir pay Rs. 250 daily to the financier.

But as Mudassir could not make the payment on daily basis, he was asked to make weekly payment.

As Mudassir failed to make payments, Raju pestered Mudassir for repayment of borrowed money. Upset over Raju’s demand for repayment of money, Mudassir along with his friends went to Raju’s house on Monday night and during the course of heated argument, Mudassir allegedly stabbed Jagadish, son of Raju, on his abdomen and fled from the spot.

Jagadish who sustained stab injuries, was rushed to a private hospital. N.R. Police have registered a case in this regard and are investigating.
