Cops arrest absconding accused within 24 hours
Mysore/Mysuru: Vijayanagar Police have arrested a man who had allegedly stabbed his friend to death and had gone absconding. The accused, identified as Lokesh, was arrested within 24 hours of the crime.
Lokesh had stabbed his friend Darshan at Koorgalli on Dec. 23 and had fled from the spot. Though Darshan was admitted to a hospital, he succumbed to stab wounds and Vijayanagar Police had registered a case.
The Cops, who began their investigation, traced accused Lokesh at his relative’s house in K.R. Nagar on Dec. 24 and arrested him, according to a press release from the Office of the City Police Commissioner.
The release further states that deceased Darshan, a native of Periyapatna, Lokesh and others, who were painters, were staying together at a house in Koorgalli. During interrogation, Lokesh is said to have revealed that he had suspected that Darshan used to frequently message and call his second wife and hence he stabbed him.
DCP (Law and Order) M. Muthuraj and N.R. Sub-Division ACP Shivashankar guided Vijayanagar Inspector Ravishankar, Sub-Inspectors Shabareesh and Narayana and staff Shankar, Muralidhar, Lokesh, Prabhakar, Somaradhya, Mehaboob Pasha, Shivakumar, Srinivasa Murthy, Annappa Devaadiga and Kamanna in the operation.
