Hanagod: A man standing on the roadside was killed on the spot when a tractor ran over him at Hunsur Rural Police limits.

The deceased has been identified as Murali (50) of Hanagod and brother of Hunsur senior journalist Hanagod Nataraj.

It is learnt that the drivers of two tractors, after unloading ginger to the washing machine, began to race in a bid to go first and the driver of the tractor belonging to one Kirangur Girish reportedly ran over Murali, who was standing on the roadside killing him on the spot.

Hunsur Rural Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
