Man, who had robbed labourer of cash and scooter, nabbed

Mysuru: Devaraja Police have arrested a man, who had robbed a labourer of cash and scooter. The victim is 28-year-old Lokesh, a resident of Nanjangud taluk, who works as a labourer in city.

On Dec. 27 at about 7.30 pm, when Lokesh was standing with his scooter near Cauvery Emporium on Sayyaji Rao Road, a man, who came from behind, caught hold of Lokesh’s neck tightly. When Lokesh asked him to free his neck, the man took away Rs. 500 cash kept in his (Lokesh) pocket, pushed him and had sped away with the scooter, following which Lokesh lodged a complaint at the jurisdictional Devaraja Police Station.

Devaraja Police, who had registered a case, swung into action and were successful in nabbing the accused within 24 hours.

It is learnt that the accused has extortion cases against him and had also been jailed.

Police sources said that the accused has again committed the crime within a week of him being released from jail.
