Mandepanda Ravi Monnappa (Monni), International Hockey player, passed away at his residence in Makkandur, here on Aug. 31 midnight. He was aged 78.

He had also served in the Indian Airlines for many years before settling down in Kodagu after retirement.

He leaves behind his wife Jamuna (Konganda), son Yogi, daughter Deepthi, daughter-inlaw, son-in-law, grandchildren and a host of family members, relatives and friends. Cremation will take place at Kodava Samaja Crematorium in Madikeri tomorrow (Sept. 2) after 12 noon, according to family sources
