Mandya: Three persons have been arrested on charges of honey trapping a businessman, said Mandya SP Yatish.
Addressing a press meet at his Office on Aug. 23, the SP said that the arrested have been identified as Salma Bhanu of Subash Nagar in Mandya, G. Jayanth, a contract employee at Channapatna City Municipal Council and C.N. Mohan Kumar Naik of Chowkasandra village in Kanakapura taluk.
The SP further said that following a complaint from businessman Jagannath Shetty, three persons including a woman have been arrested and added that steps are taken to arrest two more women and a youth, who are involved in the case.
“As businessman Jagannath Shetty was threatened with life, he had not lodged the complaint earlier and the accused are being interrogated in this regard,” the SP said.
“It looks like a honey trap case and investigation is going on to know whether the accused are involved in similar cases earlier. But there is no information about it so far. If those who have been cheated by the accused come forward and lodge complaints, action would be taken,” SP Yatish added.
