Mandya ZP CEO transferred

Replaced by Avinash Menon

Mandya: Even as actress Sumalatha Ambarish, who is contesting as an independent candidate from Mandya LS seat is crying foul over the nomination papers of her main rival Nikhil Kumaraswamy, the JD(S)-Congress Coalition candidate, the State Government, acting on the direction of the Election Commission, on Monday transferred Mandya ZP CEO Yalakki Gowda.

Yalakki Gowda, a native of Malavalli taluk in Mandya district, has now  been replaced by Avinash Menon Rajendran, who is currently serving as Additional Commissioner of Commercial Taxes (Service Analysis Wing) at Bengaluru.

In other transfers, the EC on Monday also transferred Hubballi-Dharwad Corporation Commissioner C.W. Shakeel Ahmed and replaced him with Prashanth Kumar Mishra, who was PU Board Director (Examination).

Belagavi Deputy Commissioner Ujwal Kumar Ghosh was also transferred on Monday, barely a day after he was appointed as Belagavi DC replacing S.B. Bommanahalli.

U.K. Ghosh’s transfer came in the light of the demise of his father G.C. Ghosh, according to sources.
