Mandya’s NCC Cadet lends helping hands

Mandya: NCC Senior Under Officer Poorvi Gowda from Mandya has been lending helping hands to the needy people, who are worst hit by COVID lockdown

After having noticed the hardship faced by a lot of people at close quarters when she was  representing Karnataka & Goa, Republic Day contingent 2021 at New Delhi, she started visiting  different villages in Mandya district, meeting localites, educating people on maintaining COVID-19 protocols and helping them with medical assistance wherever required.

She came across one such village, Channakegowdana Doddi, about 10 kms from Mandya, where some families needed some assistance in terms of ration for their survival during this COVID time.

She contacted the NCC unit there. At unit level, request was made by Col. Manish Prasad, CO, 14 Karnataka Bn NCC, Mysuru. The golfers fraternity of Mysuru came forward and contributed to this noble cause.

A ration distribution programme was organised at the village under Senior Under Officer Poorvi Gowda with assistance from the NCC unit. She has also volunteered to be part of COVID War Room at Mysuru.
