‘Many freedom fighters remain in dark’

February 25, 2025

Mysuru: Writer Dr. V. Ranganath has given a call for not forgetting those great personalities who have made enormous sacrifices to bring freedom for us.

Speaking on the topic ‘Indian Historical and Cultural Traditions,’ Dr. Ranganath said, about 150 freedom fighters belonging to K.R. Pet in Mandya district, who took part in the freedom movement, have been identified. Those families have not come forward to seek any facilities from the Government, in the name of freedom struggle. Hence, those families have been conveniently left out from the record books.

“It is not just those who are on Government records have taken part in the freedom struggle, but there are several others not brought into light, who should be identified. Besides, there is a need to introduce the practices that were in vogue earlier to the next generation,” he opined.
