Maryada Sahadharmini Award conferred on writer Shanta Girigowda

Shanta Girigowda, who was conferred 'Maryada Sahadharmini' Award, is seen with her husband N. Girigowda, writers Dr. C.P. Krishnakumar, Dr. Latha Rajashekar and other dignitaries.

Mysuru, Apr.16 (SPN&US)- N. Girigowda Students and Fans Association had organised a function at Sarada Vilas Law College in Krishnamurthypuram here on Saturday to confer ‘Maryada Sahadharmini’ award on writer Shanta Girigowda, who had also completed 65 years.

Conferring the award, poetess Dr. Latha Rajashekar recalled the adage, ‘there is a woman behind every successful man’ referring to Shanta Girigowda hailing her as a silent achiever.

She suggested the couple to continue to engage in social   activities.

BRV Public School-Bengaluru President and a student of N. Girigowda spoke.

Retired Principal of Vijaya PU College Pandavapura S. Nagaraj, Dr. H.R. Thimmegowda, Dr. A. Pushpa Iyengar, writer Nagarathna Hemmige, Dr. H.P. Geetha, Dr. K. Leela Prakash, farmer leader A.L. Kempegowda and others were present during the programme.
