Mysuru: Sundaram Basappa, master swimmer from Mysuru, has bagged a total of five medals in 80 years & above category at the recently held 27th State Master Swimming Championship organised by Karnataka Swimming Association in Bengaluru.
Sundaram bagged gold medals in 400 mts freestyle, 4×50 mts freestyle relay, 4×50 mts medley relay and bronze medals in 50 mts freestyle group and 100 mts backstroke event.
R. Nagesh, a 82-year-old master swimmer from city, excelled in the recently held National-level Masters Swimming Competition held at Bahadurgarh, Haryana, by winning three silver and one bronze medal.
Earlier, he has also won five gold and one silver medal in the State-level Masters Swimming Competition held in Bengaluru.
Nagesh is the resident of Neethi Marga in Siddarthanagar.
