Mysore/Mysuru: As part of International Mother’s Day celebrations, a ‘Matruvandana and Pada Puja’ programme led by KR Constituency MLA S.A. Ramdas was organised at his home-office in Vidyaranyapuram here yesterday.

Over 100 girls performed Pada Puja to their mothers. MLA Ramdas distributed sarees, Arishina-Kumkuma and Gandakshathe to all the mothers present during the programme.

Three women achievers — Backward Classes Welfare Department (BCWD) District Officer H.S. Bindya, Auto Driver Sowmya and Nurse Lathamani — were felicitated on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Ramdas said: “Today the whole nation is celebrating Mother’s Day. Today we worship the mother who brought us to the world, Mother Earth and nature. Only the sacrifices of all our mothers have brought us to the position we are standing right now.”

Stating that PM Modi’s mother is 100 years old, the MLA said that Modi’s mother still feeds his son every time he visits her. “Every mother looks after their children and dedicates their whole life to their children. Mothers don’t complain about anything. No one can beat mother’s love,” he added.

Meanwhile, Ramdas remembered the guidelines, love and affection he received from his mother. BJP KR Constituency President M. Vadivelu, General Secretary Om Srinivas, Mahila Morcha President Annapurna, Corporators Shanthamma Ishwar & Dr. Roopa Yogesh and others were present.
