Mysuru: To create awareness among people on environmental protection, H.C. Dasappa Sarvajanika Vichara Samsthe in association with Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) planted over 25 saplings at the premises of ‘Yasho Vilas,’ the Office of the Samsthe in VV Mohalla and by the roadside on Gokulam Road.
The programme was launched by Mayor Pushpalatha Jagannath. Tree guards were provided by Vidyavardhaka Sangha.
Handbills on environmental protection were distributed.
Samsthe President Dr. K. Mahadev submitted an appeal to Mayor requesting MCC to name roads in city after H.C. Dasappa, Yashodara Dasappa, H.D. Tulasidasappa and K.H. Ramaiah in recognition of their contribution to city and politics.
The Mayor agreed to do the needful after ascertaining the number of roads to be named.
Vidyavardhaka Sangha President Gundappa Gowda, Secretary P. Vishwanath, Samsthe Secretary Saroja Tulasidas and others were present.
