MCC constitutes City Vendors Committee

Mysore/Mysuru: Mysuru City Corporation (MCC), under Karnataka Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Rules, 2019, has constituted City Vendors Committee for the benefit of street vendors.

The MCC Commissioner will be the Chairman of the Committee while Community Affairs Officer will be the Hon. Secretary. Mysuru City Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime and Traffic), MCC Additional Commissioner, Health officers, Executive Engineers, Environmental Engineers, Managers of Mysuru district Lead Bank and Tahsildars of District Planning Cell will be the members of the Committee. 

Bhaskar Srinivasraje Urs, R. Guruswamy, B.S. Ravi, Prabhuswamy, M. Anitakumari, Nagaratnamma, Ziaulla, B. Basappa, Bharati and V. Vadivelu have been selected as its non-Governmental members.

Corporator Sunanda Palanetra, V. Vishwanath and Nalini (as women’s representative) of Karnataka State Street Vendors Maha Mandala (KSSVMM), C. Narayanagowda of Hotel Owners Association, A.V. Vidya (representing NGOs), G.K. Joshi (representing Labour Unions), Veena and Hemavathi (representing Residents Welfare Association – RWA) have been nominated for the Committee, according to a press release.
