Mysuru: The Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) is all set to tackle any rain-related emergencies during monsoon that is expected to hit the city in June. A new control room has been set up opposite Election Branch in the main building that will operate round-the- clock during rainy season.

The control room is equipped with four computers, walkie-talkies which enable employees manning the section to inform field officials and staff to act immediately in case of emergencies.

A total of 12 employees will work in three different shifts to attend calls. Complaints received at the room will be bifurcated according to respective zones and the Assistant Commissioner concerned will be informed about the complaint and the action taken. This apart, the four Abhaya teams have been equipped with saw cutters, sickle, machete and other required materials in case trees and electrical poles are uprooted. They will also be equipped to tackle overflowing drainage, wall collapse and other emergencies.
