MCC issues final notice to beneficiaries of Housing Schemes

Mysore/Mysuru: Irked by the non-progress or non-start of construction of houses in its limits by beneficiaries of various Housing Schemes for years, even after obtaining the work order and also failure on the part of some beneficiaries to update or report the progress/completion of their houses on GPS portal, the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) has issued a final notice asking the defaulter beneficiaries to complete all remaining or pending construction works by Dec. 31, 2021.

In a press release,  MCC Commissioner G. Lakshmikantha Reddy warned  that the released grant will be recovered from beneficiaries along with an annual interest of 11 percent, if they do not complete construction of their houses by the announced  deadline.

In case, the defaulters fail to return the released grant, then the MCC will take measures to recover money by declaring them as Land Tax defaulters. Also, the beneficiary status of such defaulters will be cancelled and they would not be considered for any other Housing Schemes in the future. For details, the beneficiaries can contact the MCC Ashraya Housing Office, the release stated.
