MCC Janaspandana

Mysuru:  Grievances poured in from over 70 residents at the MCC Janaspandana held at MCC Zonal Office-7 near Ambedkar (FTS) Circle here this morning.

Janaspandana was chaired by Mayor Pushpalatha Jagannath.

Residents of Ward 27 complained that Jogi Siddaiah Park and Gandhinagar Market were in a very bad condition. They alleged that the Dalit Community Hall was being misused and sought an end to illegal constructions and encroachment of footpaths. Corporator Rafiq Ahmed replied that tenders have been invited for regular upkeep of the Park and Market. Asst. Commissioner Mahesh said, all Community Halls were being scrutinised for proper functioning. He assured that all footpath encroachments were being evicted in a phased manner.

Residents of Veeranagere alleged that they were receiving water bills amounting to thousands of rupees. Mahesh contended that the arrears had mounted phenomenally because of addition of interest and suggested the residents to pay the principal arrears in instalments as MCC had appealed government to waive the  interest portion.
