MCC polls: Scrutiny of nomination papers begins

Mysuru: The scrutiny of 495 nomination papers filed by aspirants for the MCC polls commenced this morning under the leadership of Corresponding Returning Officers at eight MCC Zonal Offices, Chamundi Vihar Stadium premises and CADA office.

Meanwhile, leaders of Congress, JD(S) and BJP are said to be holding meetings with dissident groups, who have filed nomination papers as independent candidates having been denied tickets by parent party, possibly to woo them back to the party and sink differences. Scrutiny will go on till 3 pm when the outcome would be announced.
