Mysore/Mysuru: Cracking a whip on stray animal menace in the city, the Veterinary Section of the MCC took six stray horses into their custody as they were found to be hampering vehicular movement on roads around the Deputy Commissioner’s Office this morning.
MCC Veterinary Officer Dr. Thirumalegowda told ‘Star of Mysore’ that following public complaints of stray horses wandering on roads blocking vehicular movement near the DC Office, the MCC staff led by Shyamsundar caught six stray horses after which they were taken to the MCC’s cattle shed near Sanskrit Pathashala Signal, where they will be kept for six days.
The owners can take back their horses by paying a penalty of Rs.500 per day per horse, he said and added that if no one comes forward claiming ownership of the horses within six days, then they will be sent to Pinjrapole on the outskirts of the city.
Dr. Thirumalegowda also warned domestic animal and cattle owners against letting their animals wander freely on the streets.
