MCC to resume citywide e-Khata registration drive

Mysore/Mysuru: Days after Chief Minister Siddaramaiah proposed the formation of Greater Mysuru during his visit to the city last week, the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) has swung into action by planning to resume its e-Khata registration drive across all Zonal Offices in the city.

Though MCC ranks among the top civic bodies in the State for issuing e-Khatas, it now aims to achieve 100 percent coverage, said MCC Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Somashekar Jigani.

“There are 2,27,893 properties under MCC limits. Of these, 61,117 properties have been issued e-Khatas, 56,922 properties have A-Khatas and 41,117 properties B-Khatas,” he said.

He added that beginning Friday, the e-Khata Abhiyan (drive) will resume at all nine Zonal Offices, with a Nodal Officer appointed in each zone to oversee the process. “During this drive, e-Khata certificates will be issued within three to four days of receiving applications from property owners,” he noted.

Public meetings will also be organised at selected locations in each ward under the leadership of respective former Corporators to raise awareness and facilitate on-the-spot assistance for property owners, he added.
