MCC trims weak, dry branches

Mysuru: With rain accompanied with gusty winds lashing city, the MCC, in a bid to prevent major mishaps from taking place due to falling of weak and dry tree branches, have begun cutting down such branches in city.

Yesterday morning, MCC staff, who were supervised by higher officials, removed weak and dry branches of trees from Ayurveda College Circle till City Railway Station using mechanised saws and other modern equipment procured by the Civic Body.

MCC Commissioner Shilpa Nag said that weak and dry branches of trees which may fall on motorists due to rain and wind are being removed as precautionary measures and added that such branches of trees on either side of major roads in city would be removed.
