Rotary Club of Mysore West provided food and water bottles to Police personnel at Devaraja, Krishnaraja, Narasimharaja, Siddarthanagar and V.V. Puram Traffic Police Stations recently. Club President Dr. Raghavendra Prasad, K.R. Traffic Inspector Vinay and others were present.

MCDCC Bank (Mysuru-Chamarajanagar District Co-operative Central Bank) President G.D. Harish Gowda on Wednesday distributed ration kits to artistes from Mysuru and Chamarajanagar district.The kits were distributed at a programme organised under the aegis of Artistes Welfare Trust at Kalamandira premises. About 68 artistes were distributed medical kits, while over 500 artistes and other workers serving at Kalamandira and Rangayana on contract basis, were distributed ration kits with funds provided by Harish Gowda and senior theatre artistes. Kannada and Culture Department Assistant Director H. Chennappa has urged donors to come forward for extending monetary help to artistes who are hit by COVID crisis.

Corporator M.V. Ramprasad launched the distribution of 1,500 ration kits provided by the MCC at a programme organised in MCC Ward No. 55 (Chamundipuram) on Wednesday. Ramprasad said that the MCC has provided 1,500 ration kits to be distributed among the poor and the needy residents of the ward and urged those who can donate to come forward and extend assistance in any form to the poor. MCC Zonal Assistant Commissioner Indramma, Revenue Inspector Umesh, Health Inspector Manju, leaders C. Sandeep, Manjunath, Shivakumar, Ravi, Puttappa, Venkatesh, Krishna and others were present.

Bhadreesh, a businessman from city, donated new clothes to about 120 people sheltered at Nanjaraja Bahadur Choultry. The clothes were distributed by MCC Additional Commissioner N.M. Shashikumar, Mission Manager Dr. J.S. Bhyralingaiah and CAO of MCC DAY-NULM (Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihoods Mission) A. Shivappa.

After Kannadiga doctors in foreign countries started offering online medical consultations to COVID infected patients, it is the turn of NRI Engineers to come to the help of people in distress during COVID crisis.

A group of NRI Engineers from USA, Germany, Canada and Norway have funded ration kits for distribution among the poor and needy in the district. The distribution is being done through a team of like-minded engineers serving in different companies in Mysuru. The team, after identifying the beneficiaries, is distributing ration kits to them.

Team members Manjunath and Vaishak told Star of Mysore that on Wednesday, ration kits were distributed to more than 90 poor families at Thoremaavu village in Nanjangud taluk. Earlier, the team had distributed kits at several other villages in Mysuru taluk by following appropriate COVID-19 behaviour, they said and added that apart from distribution of kits, villagers are being educated on the importance of adhering to COVID guidelines.

Srinivasan Services Trust of TVS Motor Company has once again donated 1,000 PPE kits, five Oxygen Concentrators, face masks and hand gloves to the District Administration and the same was handed over to Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri by TVS Motor Company’s P.C. Jayanna and Srinivasan Services Trust Field Director Puttamadaiah on Wednesday. Essential equipment have already been provided by the Trust to COVID Care Centres at Doddakanya, Mandakalli, Varakod, Mahadevanagar, Muddahalli, Tagadur and two CCCs at H.D. Kote.

TNN Adarsha Students’ Hostel and TNN Academy at N.R. Mohalla provided food packets, face masks and sanitiser bottles to Pourakarmikas recently. Academy Secretary M. Patil, Treasurer Puttaraju, Administrative Board Members Shankar, Narayan, Basavaraju, M.K. Kiran and others were present.
