MDA Comr. K.R. Rakshith to be Minister Dr. Yathindra’s Personal Secy?

Night activity at MDA was to clear pending files before Rakshith takes over new role: Sources

Mysuru, June 6 – The Mysuru Development Authority (MDA) office witnessed unusual late-night activity on June 4, with staff working well past midnight to prepare documents ahead of an administrative board meeting scheduled for Friday. MDA Chairman and DC G. Lakshmikanth Reddy clarified that the urgency was due to the need to compile and complete records in time for the meeting, which necessitated extended working hours.

However, sources in the Government have offered a different account, claiming that MDA Commissioner K.R. Rakshith was at the centre of activity during the night and was also reportedly appointed as Personal Secretary to newly-appointed Urban Development Minister Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah, son of former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Star of Mysore had published a report yesterday under the title ‘What’s cooking at night in MDA?’ highlighting the late-night office work at MDA on June 4.

According to sources, Rakshith oversaw the clearing of pending files and expedited several pending approvals, with documents being processed late into the night before he took charge as Dr. Yathindra’s Personal Secretary. The activity reportedly involved department officials and other intermediaries.

When a reporter from Star of Mysore visited the MDA office late at night, the sudden presence of cameras reportedly confused those present, with some individuals leaving the premises.

The developments have once again drawn public attention to allegations surrounding the functioning of the Authority.

Critics say that despite the renaming of Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) as MDA, concerns over irregularities in land-related processes persist, though there has been no official response to these allegations.
