Unauthorised structures built on Govt. land in Nachanahalli demolished
Mysore/Mysuru: Continuing its drive against encroachment of Government lands, the Mysuru Development Authority (MDA) reclaimed about one acre of encroached land at Nachanahalli in an operation carried out this morning.
The reclaimed land forms part of 8 acres and 2 guntas in Survey No. 21 of Nachanahalli village in Mysuru taluk. While MDA officials estimated the value of the reclaimed portion at around Rs. 1.5 crore, its current market value is said to exceed Rs. 4 crore.
According to officials, the MDA had already paid compensation to landowners after acquiring the land. However, some private individuals had allegedly encroached upon nearly one acre and constructed a few unauthorised structures on the property.
Acting on the directions of MDA Commissioner K.R. Rakshith, officials launched an eviction drive and cleared the encroachment. Unauthorised structures were demolished using earth movers and cranes. MDA officials K.R. Mahesh, Mahadevaswamy, Sachin and Kempanna were present.
