The Mysore District Athletic Association (MDAA) will be conferring the prestigious Nandi Awards on the top sports persons of Mysuru district for the year 2018-19 at a function to be held at Maharaja’s College Centenary Hall at 5.30 pm on May 9.

The ‘Best Performer’ award winners are as follows: Suhas S. Gowda (Men’s Section), Apsana Begum (Women), B. Manush (Junior Men), S. Rahul Kashyap (Boys U-18), N. Rahul Nayaka (Boys U-16), Likitha Yogesh (Girls U-16), H.S. Harshitha (Girls U-14).

In addition to this, Vidya Vikas Educational Trust will be given the Best Sports Promoters Award for promoting sports. Mohammad Nouman, Senior Sports Journalist, Prajavani, Mysuru, will be conferred with the Distinguished Sports Journalist Award while Nagesh Panathale, Senior Photo Journalist, Vijaya Karnataka, Mysuru, will be conferred with the Distinguished Sports Photographer Award.

MDAA Chairman Vasu will presided over the function. Dronacharya Award winner V.R. Beedu will be the guest of honour. Mysore University’s Department of Physical Education (DPE) Director (in-Charge) Dr. P. Krishnaiah, Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports (DYES) – Mysuru Asst. Director K. Suresh, MDAA President Somashekar, Vice-Presidents B.L. Jagadish, Abhilash Nair & Mahesh Ballal and Hon. Secretary B. Srikanth will be present.
