Four strikes by right-out Nirmal (including a hat-trick) and a goal each by Ashutosh and Swalah enabled Easter FC to register a big 6-0 win over Youngmen FC in the Group ‘A’ league tie of the MDFA ‘B’ division league 2017-18 for the Govindaraju Memorial Trophy, played at the University Grounds here yesterday.
In the previous game on Friday, Cosmos FC registered a well-earned 3-1 win over Royal FC in their Group ‘B’ league tie.
Cosmos FC got off to a bright start in the first half with left-out Zafar scoring in the ninth minute of the game. Cosmos FC scored once again in the 15th minute through a solo effort by centre-forward Saqib in the 15th minute of the game. The lead was further increased by right-out Toufiq in the 35th minute for Cosmos FC. At half time Cosmos FC lead 3-0.
In the second half, Vijayakumar, the centre-forward of Royal FC, scored in the 65th minute to reduce the margin. The winner earned three points for this win.
