DC Dr. K.V. Rajendra to inaugurate

Mysore/Mysuru: A two-day sports meet for journalists and their family members has been organised by Mysore District Journalists Association (MDJA) on July 15 and 16 at Sports Pavilion, University of Mysore (UoM) in the city.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. K.V. Rajendra will inaugurate the sports meet at 8 am, with international Kho-Kho player M. Veena as the chief guest.

On the inaugural day, Cricket tournament has been organised for journalists.

On second day (July 16) at 6 am, shuttle badminton tournament has been organised for journalists and their children aged above 16 years at the indoor stadium of UoM Physical Education Department.

Later at 8 am, various events have been organised for journalists and their family members like running race, shot put, gunny bag race, lemon and spoon race among others.

The prize distribution ceremony has been organised at 3 pm.

Mayor Shivakumar, Chairman of Kautilya Educational Institutions T.  Babu, acting Director of Department of Physical Education, University of Mysore, Prof. C. Venkatesh, President of MDJA S.T.
