Mysuru: With MLA S.A. Ramdas coming forward to get DL (Driving Licence) for two-wheeler mechanics, the Federation of Mysuru City and District Motorcycle Mechanic Associations, has asked Mechanics to register for getting DL, by submitting the required documents.
Addressing a press meet here recently, the Federation President N. Ravindra Kumar said that there were 600 to 800 Mechanic Shops in the city undertaking repair of two-wheelers, employing over 2,000 mechanics.
Pointing out that a significant number of mechanics do not have a driving licence and also a majority of mechanics were unaware about the facilities extended to them by the Union and State Government, Ravindra Kumar asked the mechanics to submit their address proof and other identity cards required for issuing DL, as MLA Ramdas has assured of getting DL done if necessary documents were submitted.
He further said that MP Pratap Simha has come forward to get all facilities extended by the Union Government for unorganised workers.
He appealed the mechanics to register with the Federation for getting the benefits extended by Government.
The Federation office-bearers K. Lingaraju, Srinivas, Chotesaab, Shantakumar, Mujahid Pasha and others were present at the press meet.
