Medal winners in MMA

Ten MMA athletes of Academy of Martial Science (AMS), Mysuru, participated in the 6th MMA India Nationals at Lucknow’s Chowk Stadium recently and won 2 Gold, 3 Silver and 2 Bronze Medals for the State at the Championships.

The Championship was hosted by MMA Association of UP and sanctioned by MMA India National Federation. Over 500 participants from 26 States participated in the aforementioned Championship. Kavyashree from AMS helmed team Karnataka.

Results: H.R. Theeksha Bharuni – Female Youth C, -52 kgs, Gold Medal; R. Namrata – Female Youth C, -52 kgs, Silver Medal; J. Ashwin – Youth B, -72Kgs, Gold Medal; G.S. Dattatreya – Youth B +72 Kgs, Silver Medal; Aryan Raj – Youth B, -57 Kgs Quarter finalist; B. Akshatha Shanbhogue – Female Atom weight – Bronze Medal; Samarth Vikram – Jr. Bantam Weight – Bronze Medal; Mohammed Zaid – Jr. Welter weight – Silver Medal; Prabhu Dev – Sr. Fly weight Participant; G.R. Sridhar – Sr. Bantam Weight Quarter Finalist.

Also, Aryan Raj was awarded ‘Athlete of the Year’ in Male youth C division and Samarth Vikram was awarded as ‘One of the Best Fighters of  the Tournament.’

They are all trained at the AMS by Coach Kiran, Coach Kavya and Coach Samarth and mentored by Kru Vikram, MMA India Head Coach and IMMAF Youth Commission Member. Former Mayor and senior Congressman V. Purushotham, Police Officer Keerthi and staff congratulated the team upon arrival.
