Medal winners in National Shooting Competition

Nine shooters of Ashwini Sports Foundation (ASF)-KALS here represented Karnataka and bagged 25 medals in all and exhibited splendid shooting skills in  10 m Open Sight Air Rifle at the First Hubballi National Open Shooting Championship held at Hubballi recently.

They contested against 500 odd shooters from States like Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Telengana and Andhra Pradesh.

Justin Antony Jose was the highest medal contender and highest scorer under the men’s category. He scored gold in Senior, Junior and  Youth Individual team category. He also bagged Bronze in Senior team and bronze in open challenge.

M.S. Nagendra (second from left) from Mysuru, who took part in the Hubballi Open Shooting Championships (2017-18) conducted by the Hubli Sports Shooting Academy in Hubballi recently, won first place in the Rifle Shooting category. Nagendra is coached by Suresh, Hon. Secretary, Mysore District Rifle Shooting Association, in Mysuru.

Sonika bagged gold in Senior, Junior and Youth team, silver in Youth and Junior individual, and bronze in senior individual category.

Nikhil Malgundkar secured gold in Junior and Youth team category and bronze in senior team while Pradeepta Vijay secured gold in Senior, Junior, Youth team category.

Rhea Patil clinched gold under the Senior, Junior and Youth team event. Dhruv Ponnanna won gold in Junior and Youth team and bronze in the senior team category.
