Medical fraternity feted on Doctors’ Day

Medical fraternity honoured during the vaccination drive for college students at Maharaja’s College.

Mysore/Mysuru: As part of National Doctors’ Day, various organisations had organised programmes to felicitate doctors, who have been in the frontline during COVID-19 pandemic to treat COVID patients and help them to recover from the infection besides instilling confidence in them to overcome all odds. 

At a function organised at Maharaja College Centenary Hall during the vaccination drive for College students, Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha and University of Mysore Vice-Chancellor Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar felicitated the frontline warriors with garlands, shawl and fruit baskets.

The doctors, who were felicitated are: District Health Officer Dr. K.H. Prasad, Reproductive and Child Health Officer and COVID-19 Immunisation Officer Dr. L. Ravi, District Surgeon Dr. Rajeshwari, Taluk Health Officer Dr. Mahadevaprasad, Nodal Officer for Vaccination Dr. Shivashankar, Mysuru City Corporation Health Officer Dr. D.G. Nagaraj, COVID Care Centres’ Nodal Officers Dr. S.U. Ashok and Dr. Ravi and Dr. Basavaraj of University of Mysore. University of Mysore Registrar Prof. R. Shivappa, Varsity’s teaching and non-teaching staff were present.

In another function, Mysore Medical College Alumni Association (MAA) honoured doctors at an event organised  at Mysore Medical College and Research Institute (MMC&RI) on July 1.

The doctors who were felicitated are: PKTB&CD Hospital former Medical Superintendent Dr. H.M. Virupaksha, MCC Health Officer Dr. D.G. Nagaraj, Dr. B.S. Jayaraj of JSS Hospital, Dr. G. Malathy of MMC&RI, Dr. M.I. Nayaz Pasha of District Hospital and Dr. K.R. Chandrakala of the Health and Family Welfare Department. MMC&RI Dean and Director Dr. C.P. Nanjaraj, Principal Dr. Dakshayini, MAA President Dr. Anandravi, Secretary Dr. P. Malegowda, Dr. H.B. Shashidhar, Dr. Prasanna Shankar, Dr. L. Devegowda, Dr. G. Venkatesh, Dr. K.T.
