Medicines worth Rs.18 lakh donated to PKTB Hospital

PKTB Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. H.M. Virupaksha and his team seen with representative of Cycle Pure Agarbathies and Raghulal and Co. as they receive medicines to stock the pharmacy at PKTB Hospital.

Mysore/Mysuru: The city’s well-known manufacturers of Cycle Pure Agarbathies N. Ranga Rao and Sons and popular Pharmacy Raghulal and Co. have donated medicines worth Rs.18 lakh to PKTB Hospital on KRS Road in city.

Raghulal and Co. Proprietor N. Raghavan told Star of Mysore that following a request by PKTB Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. H.M. Virupaksha, his company donated medicines worth Rs. 6 lakh to the Hospital on Apr. 29.

Later, Arjun Ranga of Ranga Rao and Sons called him unexpectedly over phone, when he (Raghavan) told him that he had donated medicines to PKTB Hospital. He too donated medicines worth about Rs. 12 lakh to PKTB Hospital on May 1, he said.

Stating that Dr. Virupaksha, who was known to him for many years, contacted him over phone and requested for supply of medicines to COVID infected patients, Raghavan said that his company decided to donate medicines to PKTB Hospital which is completing 100 years of service this year. 

PKTB Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. Virupaksha, speaking to SOM, has expressed his gratitude to Raghulal and Co. and N. Ranga Rao and Sons, for donating medicines totally worth Rs.18 lakh to the Hospital. 

He further said that Mysuru Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri too has lauded the donations by the two well-known  companies of the city.
