‘Meditation helps in self-medication’

Mysore/Mysuru: “Meditation (dhyana) with will power is a way of developing positive and mental health, which we consider as our real wealth,” said B.K. Sandhya of Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya, Mysuru.

Speaking at the lecture programme organised by Elder Citizens Council recently  on  the topic “By practising spiritual lifestyle, one can achieve positive health and mental health,” Sandhya who is a Senior Spiritual Trainer at Brahma Kumaris for over 25 years, spoke at length about the power of the words ‘Om Shanthi’ while greeting others.

By uttering ‘Om Shanthi’ repeatedly, one can gain his/her  physical health and mental health and reduce  78% of the psychosomatic diseases. It is also a way of controlling the mind and thoughts, she advised.

Sandhya also advised the gathering to practice Yoga, Pranayama and Meditation to reduce stress, strain, tension and thus get healed  by self.

With regular practice of  meditation, one can achieve a thoughtless stage and clean their thoughts,  she added.

Presiding over the programme Dr. H.M. Nagaraju, President of Elder Citizens Council, appreciated the talk which conveyed the power of spirituality for a healthy life.

Krishna, Secretary of the Council welcomed. Sridhar, member of the Council, proposed the                     vote of thanks.
