Mysore/Mysuru: Amidst COVID-19, a mega e-adalat will be held across the State on Sept. 19, according to Justice Arvind Kumar, Executive Chairman, Karnataka State Legal Services Authority.
Talking to reporters through video conference on Friday, he said that Karnataka is the first State to do it at a time when the country was gripped by Coronavirus.
The purpose of holding e-adalat was to ensure justice to all irrespective of caste, colour or community. In some accident cases, compensation had not reached dependents even after several years. Such cases would be taken up on priority to deliver justice to such families.
He said citizens need not come to Court to file cases and it could be filed online through advocates. Ultimately, the benefit of e-adalat should reach people in rural areas, he added.
