Vid. T.M. Krishna presenting a Karnatak vocal recital at Ramabai Govinda Rao Rangamandira of Ganabharathi in Kuvempunagar last evening.

Mysuru:  Ganabharathi had organised a Karnatak vocal recital by Vid. T.M. Krishna at Ramabai Govinda Rao Rangamandira in Kuvempunagar here last evening.

The Magsaysay Award winner enthralled the audience with his perfect synchronisation of ‘Raga, Thala and Laya’ drawing applause for each rendition. He was accompanied by H.N. Bhaskar on violin, Praveen Kumar on mridanga and R. Krishna Kumar on ghata with Rajat and Veda Bhat providing ‘Shruti’ on ‘Thamboori.’

Speaking on the occasion, Krishna commended Ganabharathi for promoting classical music. Seeing a few people standing as the auditorium was full, Krishna asked those people to come and sit on the stage which they happily agreed.

Today, Vid. Krishna will be performing at Suttur Mutt, foot of Chamundi Hill, at 6 pm.
