‘Meluku’ documentary on Pt. Rajiv Taranath released

Mysore/Mysuru: A documentary ‘Meluku’ on renowned Sarod Maestro Pandit Rajiv Taranath was released at a function organised by Naguvana Creations and Rangayana at Bhoomigeetha in Kalamandira premises here last evening.

Releasing the documentary CD, writer and Anupama Niranjana awardee Dr. Vijaya recalled that she met Pt. Rajiv Taranath during her difficult days and appreciated the suggestion given by the latter to shape her life and career. She further recalled that Rajiv Taranath was in Tamil Nadu and added that the then Chief Minister Ramakrishna Hegde had agreed to her appeal to bring the great maestro to Karnataka which did happen with Taranath appointed as Registrar, Department of Culture. She said that Taranath played a key role in organising the World Music Conference in Mysuru.
