Mysore/Mysuru: It will be difficult to find one Mysurean who has not suffered because of the underground drainage (UGD)problem in the last 12 months either directly — sewage getting into the house — or indirectly — on the roads to avoid walking through it. It is not an exaggeration to state the obvious fact that the overflow of sewage has reached crisis situation in Mysuru a long time back.
However, only those who suffer directly approach the Vani Vilas Water Works (VVWW) to solve their individual problem. If lucky, you will reach the right and competent officials; otherwise you will have to run from pillar to post.
Keeping this worsening sewage issue in mind, Mysore Grahakara Parishat (MGP) has invited two officials from VVWW — AEE Musthafa and UGD AEE Nagaraj — for its monthly meeting on July 13 (Sunday).
These officials will give a clear picture of the sewage crisis Mysureans are facing and the aggrieved citizens can discuss their problems at the meeting.
Besides, the Superintending Engineer Manju along with his staff will discuss the tender MCC has given to stop the sewage flowing into Kukkarahalli Lake.
The meeting will be held on July 13 at MGP Office, 6/1 Vivekananda Road, Yadavagiri, at 4 pm. For details, contact Ph: 0821-2515150.
