Mysuru: One of the five guarantees by the State government was to give 200 free units per month to each household. While everyone loves free gifts, no one thinks of the consequences.
While Gruha Jyothi was announced for all (using less than 200 units per month), some have failed to get for reasons they think are irrational. If someone installs roof-top solar system, CESC refuses to give free units though there are no such restrictions. There are also other reasons given to refuse subsidy.
In addition there are the perennial questions of meters not functioning, frequent power break down even in this internet era when there is plenty of power, voltage fluctuation, etc.
To discuss all these issues, the Mysore Grahakara Parishat (MGP) has organised a meeting on power sector at its office on Vivekananda Road, Yadavagiri, Mysuru on Sunday (Mar. 9) at 4 pm. CESC officials Sunil Kumar, Superintendent and S.M. Suresh, Controller (Retd.) will participate in the meeting.
