Mysore Grahakara Parishat (MGP) has organised its next meeting on Aug. 9 at 4 pm at its premises on Vivekananda Road, Yadavagiri, in city. The meeting will deliberate on taking forward its ‘Clean Mysuru City’ campaign launched in 2025 at BSS Vidyodaya in Krishnamurthypuram by involving more than 15 schools. This year, MGP has plans to recruit at least 10,000 young students to act as ‘Mysuru Clean City Wardens.’
Administrators or Principals of Lions Sevaniketan, Excel Public School, Vijay Vittala Vidyashala, Orchids Bogadi, Sadvidya Educational Institutions, Anantha Geetha Vidyalaya, Mahajana’s, Pragathi and others and Executive Engineer of MCC Mruthunjaya are participating to develop strategies to involve the youths of Mysuru by adopting a simple formula. Student Wardens will be asked not to throw garbage on roads, to prevent others from throwing garbage and to report those who throw garbage to MCC to impose fines. Empowered students can influence parents, relatives and friends to maintain cleanliness in public spaces.
