Mysore Grahakara Parishat (MGP) along with Bahadur Institute of Management Studies will conduct an awareness-cum-interaction programme on ‘Effective Functioning of Consumer Redressal Commissions’ on Saturday (July 16) at 10.30 am at Rani Bahadur Auditorium, Manasagangothri, Hunsur Road, Mysuru.
Dr. Sekhar S. Iyer, a MGP member and a Consumer Activist who has filed and won several cases with District Consumer Forums and has an expertise in filing RTIs, will address the gathering which will be followed by an interaction on the subject.
Apart from this session, Dr. Bhamy Shenoy, former President of MGP and a Board Member of Delhi-based Consumer Voice will share the suggestions made during a high-level meeting presided over by Consumer Affairs Minister Piyush Goyal to make Consumer Courts consumer-friendly.
In that meeting, Presidents of different Consumer Commissions and Consumer Activists had given several suggestions to improve the working of Consumer Courts. One of the objectives of holding this programme is to provide a platform for those consumers who had faced problems with Consumer Courts to share with others.
